What is Brute Force Reading?
Brute Force Reading is a term opined by BackupEarth. This is where a software is
designed to force read files of which are locked.
Microsoft and
BackupEarth do NOT Use Brute Force
Reading, you can see this in effected when using Windows are trying to
Cut/Paste/Delete a file that is open in another software or window. Microsoft
Windows Blocks this action.
You should NEVER install software that claims it can read all locked files;
this is very risky and in most case may lead to data corruption.
BackupEarth Software is designed to request reading of locked files in the
following order, in no way is BackupEarth Accessing the file.
1: Requests To Operating system “Is File example.txt Locked”
2: Operating system responses “Yes/no”
3: Backup Requests “Can I Copy File To An Temp Locations?”
4: Operating System Responses “Yes/No”
5: BackupEarth Requests “Can You Copy The File To A Temp Location?”
6: Operation System Responses “Yes/No”
7: BackupEarth Requests “Can I Zip the File?”
8: Operation System Responses “Yes/No”
This process continues until there is no more options left, then the file is
re-queued for backup at later time.
Keep In Mind “If a file is locked, it is locked for
good reason”
